The Troop did its first backpacking trip of the year on the trails of Westchester-Putnam Council's Durland Scout Reservation. The route included the blue trail to the west of Clear Lake up on the ridge for a spectacular view. Then down to the Scalp and on the orange trail to Outpost Site 42. Besides about 4-5 miles backpacking full gear packs, everyone was treated to some unseasonable cold weather camping. There was even a light snow fall overnight to turn the campsite in pictuesque vision of the winter to come.
Austin A. and Lars S. earned the Durland Camper segment, while Nick P., Austin R. and Rajesh S. earned the Durland Basic award.
