

Special Troop Awards
The Troop 6 Camper Award
The award consists of a 1½ inch wide tooled leather belt (with buckle) inscribed
“Troop 6 Camper”. It is available to all Scouts who fulfill the requirements
listed below prior to their 18th birthday.
- Earn the Camping and First Aid Merit Badges
- Earn two of the following ten merit badges:
Backpacking, Canoeing, Climbing, Cooking, Hiking, Lifesaving, Orienteering,
Pioneering, Snow Sports, or Wilderness Survival
- With Troop 6, participate in a week long Patrol
Cooking summer camp
- With Troop 6, participate in a cold weather tenting
overnight where the night temperature was below 20º
- With Troop 6, participate in a tent backpacking
overnight, where the backpacking distance is at least 4 miles total
- With Troop 6, participate in a river (running water)
overnight canoe trip
- With Troop 6, participate in a ski weekend
- With Troop 6, earn an historic trail emblem.
These requirements do not need to be met in a single
calendar year. Requirements may be met prior to the inception of the award in
2009.

The Troop 6 Expert Camper Award
The award consists of a 1½ inch wide tooled leather belt (with special buckle)
inscribed “Troop 6 Expert”. It is available to all Scouts who fulfill the
requirements listed below prior to their 18th birthday.
- Earn the Troop 6 Camper Award
- In addition to the Camping and First Aid merit badge
required for the Troop 6 Camper Award, earn either Orienteering or Pioneering
merit badge
- With Troop 6, participate in three week-long Patrol
Cooking summer camps and earn Cooking merit badge.
- With Troop 6, participate in two cold weather tenting
overnights where the night temperature was below 20º
- With Troop 6, participate in three tent backpacking
overnights, where the backpacking distance is at least 4 miles total, and earn
either Backpacking or Climbing and Wilderness Survival merit badges
- With Troop 6, participate in two river (running
water) overnight canoe trips and earn Canoeing merit badge
- With Troop 6, participate in two ski weekend and earn
the Snow Sports merit badge
- With Troop 6, earn two historic trail emblems
- Earn the BSA 50 Miler Award or participate in a
Philmont Trek or participate in any of the three OA National High Adventure
Service Corps.
These requirements do not need to be met in a single
calendar year. Requirements may be met prior to the inception of the award in
2009.
